Biography

On January 15, 1978, a natural gas explosion and fire at the corner of Gay and Magnolia streets in Auburn, Alabama, destroyed two buildings and severely damaged two others. Forty-eight other establishments had structural or window damage. No one was injured. The Kopper Kettle Restaurant, one of the businesses destroyed, had been a popular gathering place for Auburn University students and local residents for twenty years.
