Scope and Contents

This collection consists of correspondence and newspaper clippings related to tobacco culture in Australia in the 1890s, and to Bondurant's service as an advisor on tobacco to the Australian Agricultural Department from 1896-1901. Some genealogical materials are included, as well as a small amount of correspondence relating to Bondurant's appointment to the Chair of Agriculture at A.P.I. in 1892.

Scope and Contents This collection includes papers that consist principally of the drafts and notes used in preparation of an article published in Agricultural History in April 1966. The title of the article was, "Alexander J. Bondurant: American Agricultural Advisor to Australian Tobacco Growers, 1896." None of the draft materials appear to be the final draft, but interim working copies.
