Reports, correspondence, photographs, research data are included from the files of K.M. Autrey, Head Dairy Husbandry Department. The collection concerns K.M. Autrey's activities for Auburn University and the Dairy Husbandry Department plus the role of Auburn University and Alabama Agriculture. The K.M. Autrey Collection spans the years the years 1939-1970. The majority of the collection is devoted to Augtrey's activities with the Dairy Husbandry Department of Auburn University (Auburn, Alabama) and Autrey's role in agricultrual organizations in the state of Alabama. Most notable is the Alabama Jersey Cattle Club. The collection centers on the various projects that the sttudents and staff researched for the department. The research varied from testing silage for cows to water pollution. The collection also focuses on Autrey's activities with Auburn University include work on the faculty council which he was chairman of in 1963 and the academic standards committee. The collection contains information that does not pertain directly to Autrey. Some of this is in the form of pamphlets about Alabama agriculture and Auburn University, sales records, of Alabama Cow Sales, and AU presidential reports. Specific parts of the collection that would be of interest to the researcher are the Alabama Jersey Cattle Club Reports, Department of Dairy Husbandry Annual Reports, some of the pamphlets, and the photograph collection.
