Scope and Contents
The largest portion of this accession is Mary Ward Brown's correspondence. The letters date 1947-2012, and mostly consist of letters to Brown from friends, literary agents, and publishers. There is also a large collection of handwritten and typed manuscripts of Brown's short stories, some dating back to the 1950s, along with published short stories in a variety of literary journals. The collection also includes manuscripts of Brown's memoir Fanning the Spark. Finally, this accession also includes personal and farm financial records from the Brown family, a few photographs, programs of conferences Mary Ward Brown attended, speeches given by Mary Ward Brown, and newspaper clippings and journal articles about Mary Ward Brown.
