Biographical / Historical
John Vick, a native of Andalusia, Alabama, is an Auburn University alumnus and long-time private collector of U.S. historical memorabilia and postal history. Mr. Vick graduated from Auburn University in 1962 and went on to serve in the United States Navy. Following his naval career Mr. Vick became an accomplished businessman, and owns and manages John Vick & Company located in Andalusia. As an avid private collector for decades, Mr. Vick amassed a vast collection of historic materials with a focus on the U.S. Civil War, Alabama, U.S. and Confederate Navies, and U.S. postal history. In addition to historic memorabilia, Mr. Vick also developed an interest in philately, collecting thousands of rare stamps and covers over the years. John Vick, along with his wife Faye, donated his personal collection to Auburn University in 2012.
