Scope and Contents
This accession includes Alsobrook's personal correspondence (circa 1961-1969), academic files (circa 1961-1994), and publications and research.
The personal correspondence contains chiefly letters and notes received from friends and family members, love letters, and a folder of printed material and clippings separated from letters received in 1967. Topics covered in the correspondence include current events, sports, church, the Peace Corps, and college experiences in the 1960s, including descriptions of demonstrations in Berkely, California.
Academic files and records contain class notes and administrative documents and correspondence from Alsobrook's student days as an undergraduate at Auburn University (1964-1968), at the graduate program at West Virginia University (1970-1972), and in the doctoral program at Auburn University (1972-1983).
The publications and research series contains articles, book reviews, refereed manuscripts, presentations, and research proposals, primarily on historical and archival topics. Files inlcude final copies and edited drafts, related correspondence, printed emails, notes, and research materials.
