This accession includes personal correspondence (circa 1970-2000), subject files (circa 1952-2017), teaching files (circa 1968-1991), and jobs/personnel files (circa 1974-2007).

Personal correspondence contains letters, emails, greeting cards, clippings, and notes as originals, carbons, print outs or photocopies. Correspondence is written by David Alsobrook and his family, friends, and colleagues. Files are arranged chronologically. Subject files contain correspondence, memoranda, notes, and miscellaneous clippings and printed materials. Files are arranged alphabetically by subject or name of individual and thereunder chronologically. Administrative files contain job queries and applications, related correspondence, recommendation letters, resumes and bios, position descriptions, and performance appraisals. Files are arranged chronologically and thereunder by subject documenting Alsobrook's National Archives career from 1977 to 2007. Teaching files primarily include correspondence, lecture notes, exams, evaluations completed by students, self-evaluations and miscellaneous supplementary instructional materials. The most extensive files in this series document Alsobrook's career as an adjunct history instructor at DeKalb Community College in Clarkston, Georgia, 1983-1991. This series also contains files of Alsobrook's teaching experience at Auburn University Montgomery, Eufaula High School, and Theodore High School in Mobile County, Alabama. Files are arranged chronologically and thereunder by subject. There are also administrative files relating to all jobs Alsobrook applied for or inquired about between around 1974 and 2007. These files are generally arranged chronologically by date of application.
