October 10, 1864, Saterlee Hospital, Philadelphia. Fogel complains of a lack of letters from his wife. There is a huge Lincoln Night procession in a town of 4,000 carrying torches. A note added on October 15 tells her that her letter George is now in the ambulance corps in Virginia.
