Biographical / Historical
The Alabama Advisory Council on Vocational Education was appointed by Governor Albert Brewer in 1968 to review vocational education policy in Alabama and advise the State Board of Education regarding the impact of that policy pursuant to the Federal Vocational Education Amendments of 1968 and U.S. Department of Education Policy. It held regular meetings to discuss these topics and compiled various reports and recommendations for the State Board of Education to consider. The council was based at Auburn University and appears to have ceased functioning in the late 1980s.
