Biographical / Historical
The Auburn Alliance for Peace and Justice was a student activist organization formed to protest the Reagan Nicaragua policy in 1987. The organization's activities culminated in a campus protest rally that resulted in the arrest of eleven of its members, the "Auburn Eleven." The University's actions to disipline the "Auburn Eleven" attracted media attention which formed another issue for students to rally behind, which was supported by the American Civilian Liberties Union.
