Scope and Contents
This collection contains material related to dance in Alabama, the bulk of it pertaining to dance in Auburn and the Auburn Dance Corps' activities. The collection contains programs, photographs and newsclippings related to dance events in Auburn between 1959 and 1978. In 1975, the Auburn Dance Corps toured Guatemala as a part of the Partnes of the Americas Cultural Exchange Program. the collection contains materials related to this tour including proposals for funding, photographs, newsclippings, invitations, and programs.

Biographical / Historical
The Auburn Dance Corps was founded in 1959 by Louise Turner as an independent volunteer group of men and women students who were interested in advancing dance at Auburn University. It was recognixed as an official student organization in 1963.
