Biographical / Historical
The Auburn Equal suffrage associatin was founded in 1914 in Auburn, Alabama. Records of the club's activities are sparse, so little is known about its activities. It is known that prominent Auburn women C.A. Cary and Mary E. Martin were members for the duration of its existence. In one newspaper clipping, they claim to have put on the "South's first equal suffrage march." The association disbanded in 1918, two years short of the ratification of the 19th Amendment.
