Biographical / Historical
Garland Washington "Jeff" Beard (1910-1995) served as athletic director at Auburn University from 1951 - 1972. He attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute from 1928-1932 and became employed by the Athletic Department in 1933. He became the department business manager in 1944, then director. He is the namesake of the Auburn coliseum.
