Biographical / Historical
Mrs. Harriette Grace Delany Stalcup, widely known as "Miss Grace," was born in 1888 in Illinois. She attended high school in Philadelphia and earned her Bachelor of Arts in physics at Cornell University. She entered the banking industry and eventually met and married James Garret Stalcup, Jr., in 1925. Stalcup was the president at Winfield State Bank in Marion County. They resided at Hillcrest, a house registered with the Alabama Historical commission, and actively pursued agricultural activities there. She died in 1978.
