Biographical / Historical
Voler Cleveland Bruner, "Cleve," was born on May 31, 1885 and attended Newton Business School in South Alabama. Bruner settled in Houston County, ALabama, briefly teaching in Columbia and living in Ashford. Here he farmed, owned a shingle mill and general store, and served as a federal gasoline tax collector. Bruner died in 1963.
