Robert Y. Cannon, Professor of Animal Science at Auburn from 1948-1982, headed Auburn's dairy technology teaching/training program, oversaw the University Dairy and the Burke Lab for Dairy Research , and served as the coordinator of interdisciplinary curricu;la in food sciences and environmental health. Cannon was also a member of the Sigma Xi science honorary and Gamma Sigma Delta agriculture honorary.
