This collection contains the records of the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service including books, booklets, pamphlets, and educational material related to nutrition; files from the Director's Office of the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service (ACES), annual reports, correspondence, publications and discontinued publications, photographs, and a T-shirt; a book by Norwood Allen Kerr; material from (ACES) department of home economics; as well as correspondence, newsletters, newspaper clippings, and slides, film strips, two vinyl records, a mimeoscope, a pillowcase, a tote bag, a hand soap bottle,materails relating to 4-H club, a Turner crystal microphone, a Polaroid 360 land camera, a Polaroid printer copier, and a print media guide, General Electric Flashcubes.

Biographical / Historical
The Alabama Cooperative Extension Service is headquartered at Auburn University, with offices in each of the state's 67 counties. Created as a part of a national system in 1914, work in teaching agricultural practices and home demonstration work began in 1907 and continues today. During segregation, black extension programs were administered through an office in Tuskegee and black agents carried out their duties in a number of counties throughout the state.
