Scope and Contents

This collection contains a notebook kept by Charles Allen Cary; A Medical Vocabulary Workbook by Leo Gosser; various research articles on veterinary medicine; documents relating to H.C. Morgan's time as a faculty member at Auburn University, as well as his class notes from his time as a Vet Med student; and slides and photographs of veterinary clinics across the country and at Auburn University.

Biographical / Historical

D.V.M. Horace C. Morgan Jr. graduated from Auburn University's School of Veterinary Medicine in 1955 and joined the university's faculty as an instructor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology the same year. He earned his MS degree from Auburn in 1958. During the 1960s, Morgan was the clinic pathologist at the University of Georgia's School of Veterinary Medicine where his work was noted in The Atlanta Journal and Constitution Magazine (Auburn 20, 1961). He later returned to Auburn University’s School of Veterinary Medicine, eventually serving as Associate Dean. In 1993, he won the Wilford S. Bailey Distinguished Alumni Award.

Physical Description

Most items are in good condition; scrapbook contents in Accession 21-059 have moderate to severe discoloration and some deterioration.
