Biographical / Historical

Asa T. Martin was from Bradford in Coosa County, Alabama. He served as a Confederate soldier in the 12th Alabama Regiment during the Civil War. Martin's regiment fought in Virginia and he served at Manassas Junction and Yorktown, Virginia. He wounded in May or June 1862 and had an arm amputated at a Richmond hospital. He died from his wounds on June 26, 1862.
