Scope and Contents

This collection contains photographs from Auburn University Housing and Office of Residential Life. These include training for Resident assistants, staff parties and picnics, and volunteer events such as Habitat for Humanity and the Humane Society. It contains material related to Women's Housing (1940s to 1980s) under the leadership of Katharine Cooper Cater. The collection also contains posters, slides, scrapbooks (1980-1997); a binder containing directories, maps, photos, and manuals; a binder containing hall floor plans, annual reports (1947-1980), booklets, pamphlets (1969-1981, 1988), calendars (1998-2005), and brochures (1990-1997).

Biographical / Historical

The Department of University Housing and the Office of Residence Life are separate entities but work closely together to serve incoming and current students. Both departments work collaboratively with one another to support students who live on campus and help create a well-rounded college experience for each student.
