Scope and Contents
Chapter records include constitution (n.d.); bylaws (1939 and n.d.); minutes (1896-2017); correspondence (1930s-2009); financial records, including treasurers' reports (1928-1975); membership records (1896-1976); yearbooks and directories (1912-2017); chapter regents' records (1896-1977); scrapbooks (1915-2017); memorabilia (1961-1991); newsletters (2007-2017) and chapter history (probably 1946). The collection also includes church, cemetery and Bible records from Alabama, particularly Macon and Lee Counties, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, and New York.

Biographical / Historical
The Light Horse Harry Lee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, located in Auburn, Alabama, was founded in 1896 by Mrs. P. H. Mell, the wife of a chemistry professor at Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University).
