Biographical / Historical
Isham J. Dorsey III was a native of Opelika, Alabama, and attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute. He was a combat pilot in the European Theatre in World War II with fourty-four combat missions. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross. After the war he was a commercial pilot and instructor at the Southern Aviation School, and later an accountant for Uniroyal where he worked for nineteen years.
