Biographical / Historical
In 1982, Ruth Crocker obtained her Ph.D. from Purdue University where she worked as a visiting assistant professor of history that same year. She worked as a professor of history at Auburn University from 1983 until her retirement. She was director of the Auburn Women’s Studies Program in 1989-1991, and from 2005 to 2011.
