Scope and Contents

The first work in this accession, "Reflections from the spring of '84: now...in memory..." publication was compiled by a group of 10 English teachers from the southeast Alabama region. Dr. Graves served as the coordinator of this seminar which was held at Enterprise State Community College in 1984. The contents include short personal accounts from each participant of the seminar including two authored by Dr. Graves himself, "A Note on the Composing Process" and "Dreams and Expectations." The second book in this accession is "Summer Harvest: Teachers Writing in a Summer Workshop" was completed in 1988. Dr. Graves served as director of this group of 45 participants and 8 consultants. The third work in this accession, "A World of Knowledge" is a compilation based on a teaching seminar, CTS 420 "The Secondary School" held in 1992 at Auburn University. The contents include works from a total of 24 participants.

Biographical / Historical

Dr. Richard L. Graves is a retired Auburn University Professor Emeritus in Curriculum and Teaching. Dr. Graves received his bachelor's degree from Baylor University, Master's in Education from Florida, and his doctorate degree from Florida State University. Dr. Graves is a founder of the Sun Belt Writing Project of Alabama and the Alabama Statewide Writing Project Network. Dr. Graves is also a co-foundr of the National Council of Teachers of English Assembly for Expanded Perspectives on Learning.
