Biographical / Historical
Lipscomb graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) in mechanical engineering in 1902. He worked for W.R. Grace and Co. at its Paramonga and Cartavio, Peru sugar plants until the 1930s when he became head of W.R. Grace's "Small Industrial Engineering Department."
