Biographical / Historical

"William A. Dunnington was a resident of Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Dunnington was born in Baltimore on September 11, 1816, and was in active business for over sixty years. He had been a deacon at the Franklin Street Presbyterian Church for more than thirty years, a director at the National Marine Bank for twenty-three years, and a director of the Peabody Fire Insurance Company for twelve years. His wife Sarah Brice Dunnington, who was the daughter of the late Christian Keener, died last March (1895).

He leaves seven children: Prog. F.P. Dunnington, of the University of Virginia; Mrs. Addison Clarke, of Baltimore; Mrs. Edward Reynold's; Mrs. Charles Councilman; Mrs. Alfred Poof, of Baltimore County; Mrs. Bradford Dunham, of Savannah, Georgia; and Mrs. John C. West, of Atlanta, Georgia.

Mr. Dunnington was run over by a wagon at the corner of Baltimore and Hanover Streets and died Sunday (March 15, 1896) at the City Hospital. The direction of the Marine Bank adopted resolutions on the death of Mr. Dunnington."
