Biographical / Historical

James E. Livingston was born January 12th, 1940, in Towns, Georgia. In 1957, he graduated from Lumber City High School before latter attending the Military College of Georgia. Livingston also attended Auburn University where he earned a degree in civil engineering in 1962. After graduation, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. Livingston was later awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his service during the Vietnam War. He continued his career in the military and retired in 1995 as a major general.
