Biographical / Historical
Officially incorporated in 1990, the idea for a Master Gardeners organization began in the 1980s. The organization also held a series of classes between January and March of 1990 in Opelika, Alabama. Further, the organization held several state-wide confreneces (one can be identified in March of 1992), as well as quarterly lunches. The organization used as a model for its articles of incorporation and by-laws those of the Oregon State Master Gardener Association.
