Biographical / Historical
Louis T. Wells, Sr. was born in 1885 and died in 1985. Originally from Georgia, his family moved to Pickens County, Alabama, in the 1860s. Wells was a student at Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) from 1913 to 1916. After graduating, he worked for the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service. His later work experience included positions with Borden Cheese, the U.S. government during World War II, and Foremost Dairies in Atlanta, where he worked from 1945 to the mid-1950s.
