Frank G. Hall Papers
Scope and Contents
This collection contains photocopies of fifteen letters primarily written by Hall from 1915 to 1917 while he was a student at Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University). Three CDs containing scans of the originals are also included, in addition to photocopies of census record information from 1920 and 1930.

Biographical / Historical
Frank Gurley Hall was born in 1895 and grew up in Gurley, Madison County, Alabama. His grandfather, Frank Gurley, was a Civil War veteran who served in the 4th Alabama Cavalry. Hall appears in the 1916 and 1917 Glomeratas as a "special and irregular" student in the engineering program. He was also a university cadet in Company G, Second Battalion.
