Biographical / Historical
Walter Scott Hoover was an inventor and engineer. From the early 1930s through World War II, he developed variations of new and modified types of airplane propellers and the parts that accompany them. Along with his longtime patent attorney, William Jaspert, he engaged in lawsuits over the possible infringement of those patents. Some of these lawsuits continued for decades. After WWII, Hoover continued to work in engineering. He made two attempts at farming, and then began a successful transmission company, from which he retired in the late 1970s.
