Biographical / Historical
Mollie Hollifield Jones (1884-1963) was a native of Auburn, Alabama. She attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) from 1898 to 1902 when she graduated with a degree in general education. She later became a teacher, historian, and poet, with a notable poem being "Auburn: Loveliest Village on the Plain". She was also active in several regional and national clubs and organizations, including the United Daughters of the Confederacy, National League of Pen Women, and the American Red Cross.
