This collection contains a company descriptive book, dated 1862, with 26 pages that include the name, physical characteristics, and date of enlistment for individual soldiers; a company clothing book, dated 1862, with 90 pages that include the financial value of clothing issued to individual soldiers; morning reports, dated 1862-1863, with 16 pages of the daily total of soldiers who reported for duty; and an original record and newspaper.
William T. Cooper Papers
This collection contains Civil war letters pertaining to William T. Cooper who served in the Confederate army in the 12th Alabama Infantry.
The letters describe his thoughts at the beginning of the war with letters home, and towards the end his demoralization with the war thinking that Confederate President Jefferson Davis could end it if he wanted to.
Carl Holbrook Papers
This collection contains correspondence from Carl Holbrook (twenty-nine letters, four postcards, and seven empty envelopes). Two of the letters are copies while the rest are originals. The letters were written to Holbrook's parents, Alline Hollbrook and C. E. Holbrook, in Fort Payne, Alabama.
