This collection consists of a letter from Alexander Stephens to Dr. David A. Reese, of Monticello, Georgia, inquiring about the prospects of Whig presidential candidate Zachary Taylor in Jasper County, Georgia. Also included are two transcripts- a typed and handwritten version- as well as the envelope the letter was enclosed in when it was gifted to the donor.
