Scope and Contents
This accession contains a scrapbook created by Dana Gatchell, which includes numerous pictures of the beds of royalty and aristocrats from Europe, Gatchell's notes concerning the development of bed styles from the 16th through the 19th century, as well as pictures of various objets de art. The latter category includes palavers, chalices, wine bowls from the reign of Xerxes, communion cups, and Minoan poetry. The scrapbook also contains news stories concerning various exhibitions.
This brief description does not exhaust the variety of clippings represented in this work. Included in the collection is a separate folder containing several Christmas booklets, a booklet of menus, as well as a short publication concerning beauty and nature.
