Daybook, April 1911 - January 1912
Scope and Contents
This accession contains ledgers, daybooks, memorandum and cash books from Macon County (later Lee County) community of Loachapoka. Most items appear to be from L. T. Wimberly and Company General Store. Other items are labeled Brooks Carlisle, J. T. Bailey, and Cole and Webb. A post office cash book, kept by postmasters John Daly and Thomas D. Ligon (July 31, 1871 - October 22, 1875), is also included. This is a valuable source of information about the economic life of rural Alabama communities, as well as local genealogy.
