Scope and Contents
This collection consists of 42 ten- and twelve-inch 78 RPM phonograph records of music and spoken-word recordings dating from the early 1900s. Several of the records are broken or cracked, and all of them are scratched from years of use.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
10 inch Edison disc phonograph record. Edison discs (notably thicker than other records) were created using a vertical cutting method, and cannot be played on the same record player as the others in the collection which are created with a laterally-cut method.
