Content Description
Records include sound recordings and films of performances by university marching band, concert choir and individual musicians; marching band uniforms; a 1953-54 scrapbook on the women's octet; files on a lawsuit against the university by Lida K. Mayfield, a flute instructor denied tenure; and materials chronicling the career of Hubert Liverman, composer and department chair. There are photographs and slides, as well as some correspondence and newspaper clippings. Also included are research materials for the book The Auburn University Band: A Centennial History, 1897-1997, drill charts ranging from hand-drawn charts from the the 1960s to computer printed charts of the 1990s and a copy of the book The Auburn Band 1897 to 1972 by the Auburn Band Alumni Council.
