Scope and Contents

Included are approximately 300 personal letters primarily from family and friends. They are early love letters from Joseph Cronin and John Draughon. Most of the letters from Draughon describe teaching, attending church and plans to visit Vassie. Later correspondence is primarily family news of children's illnesses, travels, schools, jobs, service in World War II, and Geneva Baptist Church affairs. Approximately fifteen undated letters mainly from daughter, Mary are also included.
