Scope and Contents
This series includes Approximately 300 personal letters primarily from family and friends. Included are early love letters from Joseph Cronin and John Draughon. Most of the letters from Draughon describe teaching, attending church and plans to visit Vassie. Later correspondence is primarily family news of children's illnesses, travels, schools, jobs, service in World War II, and Geneva Baptist Church affairs. Approximately fifteen undated letters mainly from daughter, Mary.
Also included are postcards dated 1931, 1941-1945 and include twenty-two plain and twenty-four picture postcards to Mrs. Draughon and Mrs. Stanley Nash; fourty-six cards including birthday, Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day, etc.; thirty-two Thank-you notes; fifteen invitations for various occasions; and eight telegrams.
