Custodial History

Photographs in box 3 were originally from accession 8-22-79. They were originally separated from the collection and moved into the numbered photographs. However, around 1995 they were put back in with the collection under accession 95-156.

The materials in this accession were rescued by an interested person from trash disposal during the clearing of General Lane's home, prior to its move across town to be used as a club house for the Auburn Women's club. General Lane's house was originally located where the Ralph Brown Draughon Library presently sits. The materials were held at the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for Arts and Humanities for some time prior to being given to Special Collections and Archives for retention and preservation.

General

This accession originally had two boxes, so they were labeled as such; however, a third box was later added to the same accession but was not noted on the other boxes. The box labels have been edited as of February 27, 2023 to reflect the addition in an attempt to prevent confusion.
