Biographical / Historical
The Alabama Council on Higher Education in Business was organized in 1971 through the initiative of Auburn University, directed by Dr. H.E. Steele, Assistant Dean, School of Business, in its goal to coordinate academic programs in the business area of the junior and senior colleges in Alabama. It analyzed problem areas such as transfer credit, definition of junior class status, and course content. Through various meetingss and annual conferences from 1971-1974, the council examined needs for improved communication and coordination between junior and senior colleges as well as needs for improved programs of business within all of the schools. In 1972, it was renamed from the Alabama Council on Higher Education in Business.
