Wade Hall 20th Century Pulp Fiction Collection
Scope and Contents
The Wade Hall 20th Century Pulp Fiction Collection was selected by Auburn University with a goal of gathering a broad representation of the art of pulp fiction covers as well as the authors who published in the medium. The collection encompasses publications from the mid-to-late 20th Century.
The collection consists of 1584 books published between 1905 and 2001.

Biographical / Historical
Wade Henry Hall (1934-2015) was a college professor, author, scholar, collector, and philanthropist, best known in Alabama for his 1999 book Conecuh People: Words of Life from the Alabama Black Belt, and for his donations of books, folk art, quilts, sheet music, postcards, and other items to cultural institutions in the Alabama.
Hall was a native of Bullock County, Alabama, where he attended the Inverness Consolidated School. He graduated from Troy State Teachers College at age 19. He taught school in Opp and was then drafted into the U.S. Army and stationed in Germany. Following his discharge, Hall earned a masters from the University of Alabama and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. He taught at the University of Florida, Kentucky Southern College, and Bellarmine University. He retired from teaching in 1999.
During his career, Hall wrote, edited, and compiled some 30 books about Kentucky, Alabama, and the South.
