Scope and Contents
This collection contains handwritten rules for the organization, establishing protocol for meetings, fines, manner of voting, etc. Also included are partial drafts of a constitution and by-laws, as well as partial minutes from meetings in the spring of 1910. A "Chairman J. H. Giddings" and "Rev. W. H. Harrison" are mentioned in the minutes.

Biographical / Historical
The Progressive Society of Sisters and Brothers of Love was an organization created in Opelika, Alabama, in the early 20th Century whose object was "to relieve the sick, bury the dead, to aid each other in the time of distress, and to cultivate a fruitful feeling among the race for the best interest and the welfare of all mankind."
