Scope and Contents

This collection contains photocopies of articles, correspondence, records, and photographs pertaining to Jewish Airmen who served in the United States conflicts occurring from 1914 through 1975. A few photographs appear to be originals. There is one book, Heinz Joachim Nowarra's "The Jew with the Blue Max, along with photocopies of a couple of drawings of the men themselves.

Conditions Governing Access

This collection is open except for Box 2 Folder 11 of Accession 17-015 that contains a transcript of an oral history interview requiring permissions and is labeled as such.

Biographical / Historical

Jewish Americans have served in the United States military in every major conflict in which the U.S. has been involved. This collection focuses on service in World War I through the Vietnam War.
