Scope and Contents This accession consists of documents and memorabilia preserved by descendants of the Cherry and Goldsby families. The bulk of the collection consists of 40 letters written home by Captain George W. Cherry during the American Civil War, describing life in the regiment, battle, asking after his family, and providing advice to his wife and children at home.
