This collection contains photocopied legal papers and correspondence of the James S. Alexander family, including nine Civil War letters from Alexander to his wife, Frances Jane Alexander (1863-1864). Alexander, a South Carolina farmer, served in the 22nd infantry division. Also includes genealogical information.

Photocopies of Robert Corry's family correspondence (1857-1865), including letters between Corry and his wife, Eliza Harris Corry (1863-1865) during his military service; copies of Robert Corry's obituary (1913), miscellaneous documents (1849-1865) concerning the estate of James Harris and Robert Corry's military service.

Photocopied and typescript letters (1859) from Mary A. George to her children, Mary J. and Charles H., during a trip north with her husband; letters (1861-64) from Charles H. George to his sisters, Mary J. and Mattie; and letters (1865-66) from Charles H. George's widow, Flora, to Mattie George.

This collection includes photocopies and transcriptions of five letters written by Pvt. Madison Kilpatrick to his family who lived on a farm near Godfrey, Putnam Co., Georgia. The photocopies of the manuscripts and typescripts were provided by Georgia State Archives, February 1965. Also included is the correspondece between Mr. Norman B. Cranford and the Georgia Department of Archives and History regarding the letters from Kilpatrick.
