Bessie Grayson Collection
This collection contains Bessie Grayson's reminiscences concerning African-American life in rural South Alabama during the 1930s to 1950s. Includes stories of picking and ginning cotton, canning, making syrup and molasses, quilting, school, and religious life, as well as segregation prior to the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s.
William O. Holmes Papers
This collection consists of seven Civil War era letters. Six were written by William O. Holmes, and one was written by James Ammerman. Holmes' letter on April 4, 1865, describes the emotional impact of the fall of Richmond. There is also a small diary by an anonymous farmer from 1867.
D. B. Jones Diary
This collection contains D. B. Jones's diary which covers the years 1896-1909. Diary includes records of weather, livestock, crops, household hints, local events, and visits. Some store accounts included.
